Description

Conch form similar to glaphyritids, first whorls usually evolute, but adult stages with narrow or closed umbilicus. Growth lines linear. Constrictions may be present on internal mold. Suture similar to Glaphyrites, ventral lobe wide, with almost parallel sides, adventitious lobe deep and acute, lanceolate or bell shaped, but never pouched.
