Description
Slender to rapidly expanding, apically curved, longitudinally fluted orthocones of circular to subcircular section, Surface ornament of prominent longitudinal ribs separated by concave interspaces and, in most species, less conspicuous longitudinal and transverse lirae or striae, Early-formed part of test may be faintly annulated, Siphuncle central to subcentral, empty in Silurian type-species and in most Ordovician species, but with annulosiphonate deposits in some questionably congeneric Silurian and later species, necks straight, or suborthochoanitic, segments cylindrical or weakly expanded within camerae
