Description
Compressed, with sides and venter flat, ribs more or less sinuous, fine or coarse, commonly broad and flat, branching or long and short, interrupted at first on venter, later continuous, raised in at least some growth stage into ventrolateral clavi. In macroconchs up to 400 mm in diameter, angularity of shoulders lost, but venter remaining flat and ribs strengthening. Derived directly from Deshayesites.
